Renovation · 7 months
The house had the bones of a classic Cape estate, but the interiors had grown tired. The brief was to keep its character and raise the quality of everything inside it.
Over seven months we took the house back to its structure and rebuilt it: a new entrance portico and tiled forecourt, floor-to-ceiling steel-framed windows that bring light into the living areas and frame the mountain, and new bathrooms and finishes throughout.

Renovation · 4 months
The apartment had the address but not the interior to match. We stripped it back to its shell and rebuilt every surface in four months.
The work included herringbone oak flooring, an integrated kitchen with a honed stone island, custom joinery throughout and a built-in entertainment wall. Floor-to-ceiling glazing keeps the marina in view from every room.

New build · 7 months
A new house built from the ground up, with Table Mountain behind the site for the whole job.
In seven months we took it from excavation and concrete foundations through brickwork, suspended slabs and roof carpentry to the finishes: civil works, waterproofing, custom joinery and bathrooms that look out onto the mountain. It was handed over on time and within budget.

Multiple buildings · 4 months
Schau-ins-Land, “look into the land”, has been in the same family for a hundred years. To mark the centenary, the fourth-generation owner asked us to renovate the main house and add four new buildings to the grounds.
We built the staff court, double garage, guard house and pool pavilion from the ground up, with timber shutters, cobbled courtyards and wrought-iron lanterns to match the old house. The whole estate was finished in a blush-pink render, and the work was completed in four months.
A small company that takes your home personally.
Bortolini Construction was established in April 2010 with one aim: to build relationships with clients and staff on trust and excellent service.
Today we are a team of 22. We run our own sites, contract under the JBCC framework that architects and quantity surveyors work with, and keep you informed at every stage. You deal with the same people from the first quote to the final snag.
